With the Super Bowl happening in the Bay Area this year, I just had to be there and experience the massive energy of a gorgeous day in San Francisco and an unprecedented amount of tourists and rowdy football fans.
It was not all fun and games thought; the SF 49ers are in an unique situation with their stadium being some 40 miles south of actual San Francisco, and the people of SF were NOT happy having to host Super Bowl festivities with their tax dollars while the game itself is happening down in Santa Clara. The homeless were carted off and large blocks of vital downtown roads were completely shut down. The large “50” celebratory statues set up around the city were defaced, toppled over, and basically hated on because defacing public properties gets shit done. [rolls eyes]
My boyfriend and I ended up not even bothering with Super Bowl City itself. The
line mob to get through security in order to get in was insane. So we grabbed some coffee, sat back, and enjoyed the people watching. I can’t emphasize enough that gorgeous sunny days like this is pretty rare in SF, got to take full advantage!
I couldn’t resist sharing the street shots. These street cars are just gorgeously maintained and San Francisco architecture is so visually delicious.
Really can’t go wrong with shades of grey. Midi skirts are incredibly easy to wear and flattering with all types of footwear, paired with an oversized sweater along with a large scarf makes it layered and cozy; perfect for the SF weather that can go from sunny and hot to cold and windy faster than the blink of an eye.
I hope everyone had a lovely Super Bowl weekend, and if you’re not a sports fan, at least a restful one!
