Drape drape

Oh dear.  You’ll have to excuse my roots; I’m letting my grow a bit more and give it a chance to relax before my next color appointment, which I’m about to go ombre grey guys.

One of my favorite ways to dress is playing with drape.  I can never resist a piece of clothing with some good draping built in; it makes the silhouette of your outfit so much more interesting!  And of course, there’s ALLSAINTS.

Drape drape

This look probably best illustrates the power of dressing when you pay attention and invest in pieces that are interesting to the eye.  All this look consisted of was black pants, a black long sleeves, a white gauzy scarf, and the coat.  Yet it looks so much more!

This lovely ALLSAINTS coat is probably one of my most expensive pieces in my closet and well worth the investment.  It’s lightweight, versatile, well fitted on my small frame (thank goodness for their on point smaller size tailoring), and really easy to wear.  I took this large white Zara scarf, grabbed a corner of it, and arranged it more like a square scarf to get the lovely draped effect down the front.  It took me about 15 minutes to get dressed and I was well on my way into the city on this cloudy Sunday.  Woo!

The Oscar de la Renta exhibit at the de Young museum opened recently and I couldn’t wait to see it. One of the most iconic designers in history, it was beyond exciting to see his creations up close and in person.  The exhibit allowed photography and you can basically get real close and personal with the gowns without much keeping you away, as long as you don’t misbehave ha!  A post on that will follow.

Have you tried drapey pieces in your wardrobe?  A fan, or not a fan?  Let me know below!
