Took me long enough, but better late than never! Continue reading for my complete Rocksbox thoughts – the good, the bad, and my wishlist.
Rocksbox – a subscription service for jewelry
But you knew that already. Rocksbox is one of the oldest and original subscription services, and I’m happy that they’re still around amidst fierce competition from newcomers. The idea is simple: pay a flat fee per month, and receive 3 pieces of jewelry at a time according to your wishlist and/or personal style. You can wear it until you get sick of it and simply drop it in a nearby mailbox to get all new pieces.
The shipping and handling time in my experience did not take long; sometimes I would get my next box within the same week. Shipping is of course free of charge!
If you liked a piece so much, you can keep it plus receive a discount off retail price. In addition to having unlimited access to gorgeous jewelry, receiving the boxes themselves is like an unbirthday celebration – everything is scrumptiously wrapped up and a personalized card gets included. Presentation matters, people!
The three pieces I received in this box are: earrings from Gorjana, a cuff from House of Harlow, and a necklace from Moon & Lola. Given my personal minimal style, I’d say they got it pretty right.
The only complaint I’d have from this service is that I wish I can mix and match pieces from each box – occasionally I’d like one or two pieces in a box but hated the rest; it would be so nice to be able to send that disliked piece back and get something better. When this happens I feel like you’re just not getting your money’s worth.
Overall I loved how fun the Rocksbox service was; I’m not even a fan of surprises (so ocd) but I’m making an exception for this. Each time I find a Rocksbox package in my mailbox my day is just instantly better and I’d skip upstairs and open it up to see what goodies I got. For the most part I liked what I received, but there were a few pieces that missed the mark. This is definitely a service worth trying out if you haven’t already.
